Damhead Boarding Kennels and Cattery is situated in the rural countryside on the hills just outside Dumfries and located at the end of a peaceful country lane. The kennels are set within our own grounds and we are surrounded by open fields, farm tracks and quiet lanes. This tranquil setting helps to provide a calming atmosphere for our guests during their stay with us.
Our spacious kennels have access to large covered runs during daylight hours though in periods of extreme cold, we will limit outdoor time. All dogs are taken for lead walks, morning, noon and night, the length of which varies according to the guest’s age and ability. We also have a secure outside paddock where we can have fun, free running, playing ball or just having a good sniff around.
All of our kennels and cat cabins are heated and thermostatically controlled to ensure a comfortable environment is provided all year round.
Whilst every care is taken to look after your pet, illness or accidents can occur and this is why we provide pet insurance at no extra charge during any stay. This offers peace of mind so that should we need to seek veterinary attention, there will be no expensive bills for you to pay upon your return.
